It was an enlightening afternoon for 84 alumnae and friends who attended a Lenten recollection conducted by Fr. Manoling Francisco S.J. last March 6, 2010 held at the ICA conference room from 1 – 5 pm. Fr. Manoling is a well known speaker and composer of many well-loved church songs.
He was able to impart to the participants the meaning of the power of the cross of Jesus Christ in their lives by highlighting the following: - The Meaning of Suffering
- The Cross of Jesus Christ
- Pain in relation to Love
- The Victory of the Cross is the Victory of Love
- Forgiveness and Reconciliation
Father Manoling also encouraged participants to share some of their experiences on how they have witnessed suffering because of love and how God has invited them to suffer freely due to their decision to love. The recollection ended with an anticipated mass. Overall, the attendees have only high praises for Father Manoling because he was able to convey his thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively and he was able to make complicated concepts more understandable. |
